Here are some things you should know:1. Name Change: As some of you know, the main website has been called "The Bitter End" for years. Why? Because when I didn't have enough money for a domain name or hosting, I decided that this would be a cool name for a small survival horror site that could never possible compete with the big boys. Well, much has changed over the last 3 years. I bought the domain name
www.survivalhorroronline.com because it was finally available. My last URL for my site was
www.thebitterend.50webs.com but I would never change the name because another person had named their site "Survival Horror Online", although their URL was not even close to that. I think it has been long enough and I am officially changing the name throughout the entire website. Also, run a Google, MSN, or Yahoo search for "survival horror" - yep, it's Wikipedia, Chris' SH, and Survival Horror Online. I am pretty sure I need to fully change the name.
2. Are we selling or shutting down?: No! Although it had been seriously considered twice in the very recent past. A few weeks ago I was pondering the lack of interest in the SH genre and had actually posted SHO as being for sale. Then I saw that a transfere agent wanted about $800 just to transfere the domain to someone else. That idea was scrapped. Then, last week
IGN (as in IGN.com beholder of all sacred gaming information old and new) made me an offer to host Survival Horror Online on IGN as a more comprehensive survival horror genre site that IGN fans could visit for a tighter concentration of SH news in one spot. I was just about to go for it when ControlFreak said something to the tune of, "IGN wants our site and you are considering it? That should tell you something about it's worth. I would hang on to it even moreso now!" I can't remember the exact words but it was something like that. Anyway, nobody can have SHO, it's mine!
I kid! But thanks to CF's ever present logic (on a handful of things
), I came to my senses and decided to do the right thing.
3. I don't see any news about ??? on your website: I am not a news machine, I have to scour the interwebs just like anyone else for latest news. So if you don't see it, then please let me know and I will get it up on the main page ASAP. Email me, PM me, IM me, I don't care. Just let me know and I will post it while giving you full credit for the find.
4. Game reviews: Again, I don't have time to review all the games. So if you have played, then please submit a game review to me and I will post it at SHO giving you full credit. I am easy, anything you want to see at the main site, just send it to me and I will consider it. This is your place too you know. It takes all of us to have community. (That sounded totally gay.)
5. Drilling in Anwar: Actually, there is no #5. I just hate even numbers and 5 looked like a good stopping point.
