For me, the series stopped being scary the moment I played and beat Silent Hill 4 and as I played I wondered what the hell was going on. The terrifying atmosphere I knew and loved was gone along with the jump out of your seat moments. It was a good game, but not a good "the good silent hill game" I expected.

So how did you feel when you played this one.

Well... The Room had no flow and there was too much of a deviation in story. It just doesn't stand up to the first 2 Silent Hill games. I noticed myself pushing through the game just so it would be finished.

Yeah I'm the same, 4 was a good game *in some ways* and all but it wasn't SH for me at all. It was tonnes more arcade like than the others too. Henry drived me nuts with his dumbness and then the real golden nugget was babysitting that cripple for the second half of the game and that completely ruined it. Oh and add that you had to re-visit everywhere again and it was just a bit meh, it could have been a much better game though like I said in some ways it was good and scary in some ways.

I liked it, but trying to stick those swords in ghosts was really damn annoying.
I can't really explain why but 4 had a bit of a Twin Peaks feel to me.

I loved it. It was the first Survival Horror game I played and nothing has been able to beat it though Forbidden Siren 2 came awfully close.

I thought the storyline was gripping and the Monsters were great. The Doublehead in particular was an amazing monster that still kinda freaks me out.

Walter Sullivan is to me the best Silent Hill character ever, yes even beating Pyrami Head.

Henry Townshend > all.

I would fall asleep as he made up his mind about what goodnight-story he would tell me.


Seriously, the world could explode and he'd be like "... ... ... ... w-what? ... ... ... hmm ... ... ..."

i definitely loved the game, thought it was a nice change of pace for the silent hill series... the only annoying part was the ghosts. i really liked how it was divided into levels and i liked the first-person in "the room"

not my fav. but definitely one of the best
