Hey, iam a Large fan of rpg type games, and am always looking for suggestions on others fav. rpgs.
Plz tell me your fav. best rpgs?
Heres mine:
Diablo 2 LOD - best fav. this game is the F'in BEST! man. I played this lil beauty for years on B.net finding awesome weapons n armor then making builds an dueling pk'ing other people is great.
Baldurs Gate 1&2 - next fav. (The PC versions, not the console ones)
and i cant remember what else my fav.s where.

My suggestions for some of the best RPGs would have to be, in no particular order:

Shadow Hearts 1 & 2 on the PS2 (you can probably find 2 but not 1)

Final Fantasy 7,8,10,12 (10 is the most comfortable to play and easiest to absorb, and has a badass storyline)

I really should let CF add her favorites here too. She has played an ass load of RPGs.

Shadow Hearts!!!!! The first two games are amazing - though I think they're pretty difficult to get hold of.

Also, I liked the Star Ocean games.

There are others, but I can't think of them right now. Razz

Hey, i was looking around ebay for shadow hearts games and theres 3 diff. ones?
Shadow Hearts, Shadow Hearts from the New World, Shadow Hearts Covenant
What ones the best? or do they need to be played in order?
And ya i think i'll skip ahead to FF7 i was planning on playing them thro in order, but im not really into FF3 right now.
Althought im only couple hours into it, maybe i'll save that lil beauty for a rainy day or something boring.

Covenant is the best of the 3 in terms of graphics and an in depth battle system. The first 2 games are related but New World has completely different characters.

You have GOT to play Shadow Hearts and Shadow Hearts: Covenant in that order. Well, you don't have to, but they'll make more sense that way. Razz

Seriously though, they are worth playing. I rate them up there with the best Final Fantasy.

Yep. From the New World is the weakest of the three games. It's completely unrelated to the first two, so technically, you could play it first. Razz

anyways i was looking up Shadow Hearts on the intraweb, and it seems that Shadow Hearts is a sequel to a game called
Koudelka on the ps1. So the actual order is:
01 Koudelka
02 Shadow Hearts
03 Shadow Hearts Covenant
04 Shadow Hearts from the New World

I'll break this into two segments...FF and all other RPG's!

My order of Favorite FF games! (keep in mind these are all REALLY close to eachother)
4,6,Tactics,8,9,7,X,X-2, 12,5,3,mystic quest (SNES)

I havent played Crisis core yet and Dirge of Cerberus is a shooter but would be right there along with 7 because zomg freaking fun game to play!

Okay heres my favorites that aren't final fantasies!

Shadow hearts (1 and 2 havent played 3 yet)
Wild Arms 3
Star Ocean (all three are great)
Chrono Cross
.hack

I know I'm missing something in here but am too lazy to go look at my game shelf in the other room right now Very Happy

I'm not really a fan of eastern RPGs but western ones such as the Elder Scrolls series and the Fallout series are my favourites.

I know what you mean man, i never was into Japanese type rpg's as a kid, i remember i tried playing i think it was FF8 long time ago. And thought it sucked, maybe i think i didnt get the battle system back then. And one of my old bud's told me to play some FF game, and i said something like "i dont play them type's of fantasy games, man". Even when i first started FF1 some months back i hated random battles gut's, but i got used to it after awhile.
