| I believe I have seen a deal somewhere, where you could pre-order it, and get a special suit based on your system. Anyone else saw it? Remember where it's from? I feel like pre-ordering the game. So far the game has received two 9s, one by the Official Xbox magazine, and for the the PS3. I feel like jumping into the hype-wagon saying "fuck it, this game will be a new classic in survival horror!" but somewhere, in between EA and the generic design, I refuse to truly believe. _________________ |

| I bought dead space a couple days ago. Along with Fallout 3 and Siren Blood Curse. Ive tried them all but im playing Fallout 3 the most at the moment because its F*CKING GREAT! From what ive seen so far, its a graphic masterpiece. Im pretty sure its some of the finest graphics ive seen so far for the PS3. But on the negative side, I have a feeling this game seems to focus on that alot. Not that its bad, hell no. Theres multiple kinds of survival horror. But I must say this one didnt really scare me that much. Zombies always have had this unsettling quality about them, a quality necromorphs lack. Necromorphs are your main enemy in this game. At first glance, they appear to be viciously mutated human beings with sickle-like hands, long, sharp teeth and an extra pair of sharp bladed arms on their shoulders. In dead space, their main way of ambushing you is by busting through dark air ducts or jump from behind corners screaming. Even though they look nasty, they never really got me jumping out of my seat, or feeling remotely uncomfortable. Theres one big reason for that: Isaac (the hero) wears an awesome suit of armor and can literally slice them to bits with his laser weapons. Wich is something the game focuses on, the slicing. These creatures have one weakness: severing of the limbs. This requires precise aim but RE4's control system makes that very possible. You also have this neat power that allows you to slow objects down, including enemies. So you can shoot a monsters arms, legs and head off with Lee Harvey Oswald accuracy. Theres a variety of weapons you can buy from shops (special computer terminals) with credits you can collect the same way you could in RE4. Sometimes their in lockers, sometimes monsters drop them. Ive been playing on easy mode and I noticed I found more ammo than I cared to use. Sometimes I just wasted it showing off some of the weapons cool secundairy features. At certain points in the game, you will be dealing with instant death traps. But luckily the game autosaves frequently and in most cases you will reload to the point where you entered the room you died in. Wich is good because im stuck at the moment with a minigame. |
